Hi Guys,
I'm getting a little worried about my Clown Plec. He is a very timid little fish, and has made his home in one of the lower caves of a largish ornament at the back of the tank. He very rarely ventures out of his little cave when the lights are on, and if he ever does will quickly scurry back in if another fish/shrimp gets close to him.
He gets a liffle active at feeding time, and I can often see him swim up and "latch" onto the side of his cave and wander around inside his cave as the other inhabitants mop up all of the food i put into the tank. Their isnt that much algae build up in the tank really to speak of - any on the ornaments and bogwood is quickly mopped up by the other algae eaters (mostly the shrimp - my bogwood's never looked cleaner
), and any on the glass takes about a month until it gets sufficient to be scraped off.
The food i put in the tank is the usual flake (mixture of normal and veggie flake), algae pellets/wafers (these are mostly pecked away until eaten by the platies and golden barbs) with the occasional bloodworm as a treat for the fish. I have tried the veggies (cucumber, lettuce etc) for the plec, but he never seems to bother.
Any advise for what to feed him (or is he really sneaking in some kind of snacks while the lights are off - not that anything seems to last that long
). I'm getting quite worried about his lack of apparent eating, and he's such a pretty fish.
