iv been curious about this for a while now, but what fish(both salt and fresh water) in new york state are illegal to own?? i have been trying to find this out on my own lately, but haven't been able to find anything on it. does anyone have any information??

I know they are on long island. That doesn't stop a friend's father from keeping a nice shoal of them in his living room. Beautiful animals.

Snakeheads might be illegal, but I'm not sure.

well i can think of a saltwater fish, great white shark are illegal i believe.

Pets that are illegal to own are regulated by state and town/city you live in. If you're a resident of NYC, I suggest calling 311 to see what pets are prohibited.

those are the only thing im almost positive that aren't illegal here. i know my favorite lfs sells them like 3 times a year.

As far as I know, snakeheads (even the "dwarf" species) are illegal in every state in the US. Huge bummer...

I couldnt find any info on google for guppies but it is hard for me to believe GUPPIES are illegal. Im interested to know though, thats crazy if they are....

You got the wrong person. I never said anything about Guppies being Illegal. Not me sorry wrong person.I just found out on Google, it is illegal in Maine to own Koi. Ow my God what are we coming to.
