What Is Going On?

A few days ago I noticed a few assassin snails in my QT tank. I wrote about it here http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/414888-assassins-from-nowhere/ but it's not the busiest forum and no one commented...

Anyway today I counted at least 9 assassin snails! What on earth is going on? There are no parents and yes there seem to be more babies by the day!

Its most likely to be eggs in the wood, snail eggs are temperature sensitive and can take up to a couple of months to hatch so this is very possible, don't worry about meds unless it has a high copper content, i have assassins in the majority of tanks at work, many have been through meds. Sometimes it can discolour them a little bit.
