It says it may harm other fish or inverts, so what if i put a mantis in there? Since they're both so tough, would they leave eachother alone? Sorry for the noob question. The only danger i see is when one molts. I guess the mantis can hide in his burrow, and the lobster can too though, since its a digger.

thanks!

oh btw, im looking a a smithii, i can get one.

this is just a guess but

I think either the mantis would kill the lobster straight away or as soon as one moults the other will kill it. Then again I'm just guessing lol

Just look at the countless mantis shrimp vids on U-Tube. They are merciless hunters that will rip that little lobster to shreds. Mantis shrimps are only really suitable for single specimen species tanks IMO.

Agreed, most likely the lobster would be mantis dinner.

Really? A mantis can be endangered to large hermit, which is smaller than it, but big nonetheless, but not a lobster? Hermits dont get too big, but most of the time larger ones live until a mantis outgrows it. well, what if it never did outgrow it? Smithii's only grow 3.5 inches max according to roy's list. These lobsters grow up to at least 5 inches. My smithii would never get bigger than the lobster. Do you really think it would kill the lobster? Guys and Gals, I'm really not trying to make it work, and im not trying to sound snotty. I'm basically just asking questions rudely. lol. sorry.

Yeah, it is worth the risk. It's just a freaking lobster, its not like it will haunt me or anything. Im going to do it. If it dies, thne oh well, another one down, im sure there are noobs thaat have kileld them before.

Im just kidding. Thanks everyone. I won't do it =]]

Thanks again!

haha. Guess Ill just have a purdy smithii. Hey, i can't find them anywhere, but the one i've found is $50. Is that price way out there?

$50 shipped is a decent price, I might even consider paying $75 shipped since the demand is so stinkin high for them.

yup they're dang hard to find. I dunno what shipping is. the price of the stomatopod is $40, so i dont know
