You should take out the clown loach, the rams and the albino shark.

By the way what catfish is that?

LOL oh yee of little faith...

Did you not believe me then?

Ok for the record, I suggested just leaving all the tetras in this tank and moving all the rest into a much MUCH larger tank

You could get two more khuli loaches for that tank and it should be fine.

Will the shark, clown, rams and khuli loach be ok in the tank with the tetras for a couple of month as the new tank will need setting up first

Miah - check the sizes of all the fish - and the volume of his tank water. It's only a 60 litre, full of rocks, so even LESS water than that!

All the tetras add up to roughly 22 inches of fish - in a 16 gallon tank (19 inches long) - so with just the tetras alone he's over the recommended stocking level. But as I said, this is manageable with good tank maintenance and decent filter/aeration.

The general rule is to slightly understock your tanks if possible as this creates less chance of illnesses/stress etc in the tank and helps keep your tank water in an easily managed state. (I mean it's not much fun having to do daily water changes is it?)

Anyway, the poster has asked for opinions, and these are just mine - was trying to show them an easier way of it with less problems so that they can actually enjoy keeping the fish without it becoming a bit of a burden with regular problems.

Given the choice between putting them in a new, uncycled tank, and leaving them where they are, I'd say leave them for now.

HOWEVER, if you haven't done regular water changes up to now, you may have issues with putting them into the new tank (once it's set up), what's known as 'old tank syndrome'. What you need to do in the meantime (and it's a good idea anyway) is to start a regular water change schedule on your existing tank, starting with say 20% twice a week. This will avoid any sort of shock to the fish going into completely different water than they're used to.

FWIW, I'd say keep the tetras and the BN in your existing tank, and moving all the others.

its hard to understock if its a first tank and the only tank lol
