Watched a few video clips of these after posting in this thread, they look like a great alternative "dither" fish group in the upper water, instead of the more common Leopard or Zebra Danios. Only thing is that they appear to be on the small side as adults (~4cm) and they apparently are quite squittish, so you probably wouldn't want to mix them with anything too much bigger than themselves.

Something else that stood out is their change in appearance between sparse shop tanks and reasonably planted home tanks, that reddy colour goes from non-existant to such vibrancy!

My serpaes are a bit like that too. They were nice at the LFS, but after they'd been at home for a while they were striking! When the light first goes on in the morning they're very pale as well, but warm up when they wake up.
