What Fish Is This And Can I Keep It In An Aquarium?

Hello, I have a lake that goes into a drainage that goes into a stream near my house which has fish like in the picture.
I want to know if I can take it home and would it be suitable if the fish is identified.

In the photo the fish is about an inch long, the biggest fish i saw was 5 inches, it is a pretty bad one sorry,

It has brown vertical stripes going down which go into silver bottom, it has a bottom fin, two side fins, a flat tail with no indent. yellow tint to the tail, greyish brown top, more brown then grey, spiky top fin that goes into a soft top fin behind it, no spots, what do you think it is? If you need any more info just tell me, i live in USA East coast. There were hundreds of them. Was a ***** to catch one. I only took a video but just discovered I can't upload it because i don't have the cord so i took a pic of the video still.

think if i kept it with tropical fish like platies and catfish id be fine?

Looks like Etheostoma caeruleum, good it and see if it is that or not.

No i don't think so, besides brown and silver there are no colors whatsoever. What about some type of sunfish? think it'd get too big?

research before ever putting anything in something that isnt its natural environment.

you dont know how big this fish gets or what it eats or how long it lives..

I have a feeling its gonna be a big fish and those that i saw were just the babies but idk O__O' it does lead into a huge lake, if your coming from the other direction so if babies end up there it would make sense. But the biggest fish i saw was maybe 5-6 inches. donno if they can swim back across once they get too big or not. However. I wonder if its illegal.... to take them...?

id imagine they are the fry and the mum and dads are in the lake.

like how salmonswim upstream, lay their eggs and then the babies come back down and grow huge.

also it might be illegal to take them out and i do know you should never ever put a fish back in the river after it has been in an aquarium as it can take new diseases with it which the other fish will have no resistance to.

No I can't get a better picture, once I get the firewire cable or w/e its called im gonna upload the video which has better quality. I can always try to re catch one again. I actually think it might be illegal but If I have a fishing license maybe it will be OK.
