I have set up my first tropical fish tank, and currently have 1 Red Tailed Shark, 6 Neon Tetras, 4 Penguin Tetras, and 4 Silver Tip Tetras. The tank is 100l and has been set up for 4 months. I have done all the tests on the water, and it has settled in very well. Ammonia and Nitrate levels are fine. I would like to add a few more fish to brighten up the tank a bit, and I am unsure which fish would be the best to add. I believe I am very limited by the Red Tailed shark as it won't take to many other fish, although, I never see it rarely comes out of a cave type ornament I have. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Hi, Welcome to the forum!
I could be wrong here, but I think you're at your limit - or over it - already. 100L is less than 30 gallons. I don't think it's even recommended that a red tailed shark be in something that small. The other fish would be okay in there, but I don't think I'd add any more.

If you got rid of your shark, you could get a few 2inch fish to of fully stocked your tank.
sorry to say, christine is right, you should get rid of your red tailed shark. return him to your lfs if possible.

Red Tailed Sharks = Size : Up to 6 inches (15 cm)
Neon Tetras = Size : Up to 1.5 inches (4 cm)
Penguin Tetras = Size : Up to 2.5 inches (6 cm)
Silver Tip Tetras = Size : Up to 2 inches (5 cm)

Okay, You have a total of 193 Inches of fish(rounded); unrounded that's 192.80.

100 liter = 26.417 205 124 gallon [US, liquid]

IMHO you're WAY WAY overstocked...

I'm not sure how you did your math but it's WAY off. Using your adult sizes gets:

1 RTBS = 6"
6 Neons = 9"
4 Penguins = 10"
4 Silver Tips = 8"
Total = 33"

Even using cm wouldn't yield 193"

In answer to the OP, you are indeed very close to fully stocked. if you havev very good filtration (at least 7 times tank capacity per hour) and a good weekly maintenance routine, you could possiibly add a few more tetras but I wouldn't do much more than that. As mentioned already, rehoming the RTBS would open up some options.
