Im looking for an external filter for my juwel 350 trigon....what should i get?

i have no idea what creteria im supposed to be looking for.

thanks

Depends what your budget is, with 350l you'll need somthing with a flow rate of around 1400l per hour (which will give you 4x, enough for a common community). You can either get yourself 1 large external or 2 smaller ones :) Personly id recommend a large eheim Pro or 2 Tetratec EX700 or EX800 :)

1 Good Site :)

thank you i'll have a look.

i was planning on ebaying it to be honest - seems to be alot cheaper...just need to find the right thing :)

Yeh of course shop around, just linking you to a good place for browsing :) id just take a look through, find some that will have enough filter output for your needs (remember, 1400l per hour), then come back, ask for a few opinions on it, once you know the best one then find where you can get it for the best price.

ok kool thanks...i'll have a look and see what you think when ive found one. thanks

Something like an Eheim Pro 2028 would be good.

For 350 liters, a Rena XP3 would do very nicely as would a Marineland C-360. Both have more than adquate flows and lots of space for the filter media of your choice. I have an XP3 that is 4 years old and doing quite nicely to serve my 120 gallon tank. I have the smaller C-220 on a 45 gallon and it is also running trouble free. Both filters are silent in use, which is very important to me.

I have an XP3 as well as it's nowhere near as "silent" as my Eheim. In fact, it's quite known that the Rena XP filters are quite noisy in general (compared to Eheim which really is silent). But I'm not saying it's a terrible filter - as I'm running one that came with my tank. But my choice is still Eheim.
