What Filter To Buy For 45Lt Tank?

Hello everyone

Im looking at buying a filter for my 45lt tank as I currently have a marina s15 hook on the back filter and its quite noisy and after reading it seems this filter is a bit out dated. I have come across the superfish aquaflow 50 for £10 however the reviews on it are poor, are there any good shouts out there for a good filter on a tight budget??

Many of the filters that I am familiar with for tiny tanks like that are probably not going to be much quieter. One that I am aware of that is very quiet and would work fine on your tank is a Rena XP1, but it can be a bit costly to buy. Another option is to go with a sponge filter and an air pump. A sponge filter can be very cheap to buy and most could easily support a tank your size. The air pump can be quite another story. I like the Rena air pumps for quiet performance but again they are a bit costly.
