any identity would be nice!

The fish alone my be providing adequate nutrients already, how many watts of light are over the tank? and what type of lighting?

As long as there are no visible deficiencies then it's a safe bet that your fish are already producing adequate nutrients.

any idea what the plants are, got them as a job lot!

i know some are Anubia's (if thats how its spelt)

Yeah you wont need any unless you see problems with the plants, dosing a little Flourish Excel wont hurt.

From what I can see you have Swords, Crypts, Vallis, Lilaeopsis and what looks like water hedge (Didiplis Diandra).
