Hi
Setting up a 300L tank to move some existing fish into, the footprint of the tank is 16"x46" or 40cm X 117cm roughly, I currently have a false Siamese algae eater, 1x panda Cory( sadly his mate died, shortly after rescuing them.)
Current fish are 12 assorted danios( leopards, zebras, goldens, glowlight). 2x harlequin rasbora, 1x rescued golden wonder killi(male).

I would like/going to get,

Non catfish
4x harlequin rasbora
2x female killi ???
Maybe a few more danios

6 x panda Cory and 6 x other Cory's (unsure which yet) or I might just get 11 pandas, to make 12 with the existing one.
1x peckoltia vittata
1x bulldog/rubber nose/lip plec

What other cats could I put in there, is there room for another plec?
Ideally I don't want anything that grows bigger than 4-6" or 10-15cm as I like smaller fish.

i whould get the bulldog plec u could get strba cory :good:

i have corydoras trilineatus,(three lined cory) lovely peaceful and small, i had 2 adults, that have had 80 babies, very nice markings,

The bulldog is a definant along with the vitatta. Nice cory suggestion.
Looking for ideas for possible other inmates or to see if people think the bottom is going to get too crowded.

Very pretty, I add to the shortlist.

Rubbernose Plecs (Chaetostoma spp.), of which there are 25+ and counting as more get properly classified, need very specialist setups comapred to the average hobby fish...
  • Strong water flow (especially at the surface), to aerate the water
  • Cooler temps typically in the 20-22C ballpark, to maximise the oxygen potential of the water, just like you would for "hillstream loaches."
  • Excellent water quality (no ammonia/nitrite, no/little organic matter)
If you want to successfully keep this plec, tankmates must be centred around its specialist requirements. I have a ~5cm C. milesi female with Phenacogrammus nigropterus (an African riverine tetra); Steatocranus tinanti; Synodontis congica; a group of Synodontis nigriventris; a single Weather Loach (far from ideal, will be trying to rehome it with someone very soon) in my 48x12x15 (140l) powered by a Fluval U4 filter at 22C.
