What Does This Mean?

I have kribs and cories in my tank with a sand substrate. When ever the fish grab a mouth full of sand, which they always do lol, they seem to munch on the sand and the sand begins to fall out of their gills? Are they just sifting the sand through to find food? Or is this some sort of method of cleaning their gills?

There just sifting the sand to find food, dont worry about it. Helps to keep sand a bit cleaner as well as there constantly turning over the top layer

how are they goin mine have partered up and have proven pair yay mine also seem to be protecting there home too looking good

my kirbs also have paired up, after about a week and a half, at least theyre acting as a potential pair.

My cory's sift sand all day long. They will get all the algai out of the sand from doing this. I put some cory's in a sandy bottom with green growing in the sand and a day later it was all clean.
