I was wondering what it meant when someone is voiced in live chat as I have seen people voiced and the voiced person couldn't do anymore than a regular person could?

The main use is for moderated chat rooms. In moderated chat rooms (it's a mode) only those with voice and ops can type. People without voice can still come and go as they please, but they can only view what others say, not actually say anything themselves.

Actually, in the TFF chatroom, they can "speak" and their messages can be read by others who haven't been voiced, just the people who have been voiced don't have to see it.

It mostly got used when there were a few of the boisterous kids in, so everyone else got voiced (usually by CFC) except the kids, so the rest of us could have more sedate conversations and the kids could sing lyrics to each other or whatever they do.

It's kind of like a mass ignore function and was not used enough in my opinion ;)

And now it's used as a ploy by the mean people with ops to make those without ops (ie, usually me.... meh) feel special.... Doesn't work though :-(

Aw poor feeshy
:(

We tend to do it to Durb though, just to calm him down for 5 mins when Sue has bee giving him too much coffee.
