In a very heated, lengthy yet peaceful debate, today with a fellow colleague that is a vegetarian, I was questioned about my love of fishes yet my love for eating seafood, why is this, As i explained The food i eat is not what i keep, the food i eat is caught and is not endangered as i dont eat shark meat, or any other fish delicatessen that is from endangered species, I may eat stuff that has caused damage to the eco system of the water but this i dont know of, and as far as im concerned, wheere eating is concerned to survive, humans are just as much in the food chain and the circle of life as sharks are.

What do you people think?

Are you a Veggie?
Are you Veggie that only steers clear of meat?
or do you eat regardless eyt still have a love for the living world?

Yes, I deeply enjoy my dish.
Yet I love sea food, especially crab and shrimp, but I like it all none the less.
I also like sport fishing!

Well unless your having guppies and chips for your dinner i dont see what the problem is, its not like your keeping your fish then eating them, tell him to shut up lol

This made me laugh out loud. 3 times.

It makes perfect sence. In fact my bf and I were just discussing the other night how hungry we were and how there was NO food in the house. We both looked at the tank and started to laugh. We decided that it once we got the fish scaled and de-boned, there wouldn't be much left of them to eat. Especially the neons.

I LOVE certian kinds of fish, hallibut, talapia, smoked salmon, cod (Mainly fried). It has GOT to be cooked right though. Lots of seasoing. I love any kind of shrimp, as long as it is fresh. Love crab, and I kept hermits for years. Love lobster, never kept a lobster. Hate muscles and oysters, never kept any of those either. lol

So seeing how I keep them and can still eat them, I find that interesting.

I would never think of eating cat, or horse or dog. I have kept all three of those. I dont care HOW good they tatse. I have dearly loved these animals and owned and cared for them at some point in my life.

Maybe this is why I don't mind my bichir eating my neons? The only reason I get mad at him is because they are 2 bucks a pop. I deffinatly have more affection for the Bichir and not so much attatchment to the neons.

Am I making ANY sence????

i have most attatchment to my betta, as he was one of my first fish and he is just so damn sexy!

I think my sig says it all.

Other than killing fish to eat and swallowing a few goldfish in the 70s, I'm very fish friendly.

you swallowed a goldfish, i hope it wasnt by accident, when you was drunk and decided to play bobbing for apples in his bowl!

I've seen a few studentys have a go, not nice at all! :-(

In regards to fish eating, I am not a fan of cooked fish and only really for peppered mackrel etc none of this plaice or fancy oyster seafood etc

Cod, Salmon, Prawns, i like them thats about all ive tried to be honest, ive never found it that interesting, get a chinese! i like duck, they sit on the water?

My fish eat other fish, and so do I. I'm not saying I park myself down each night with a knife and fork in a tub of flakes, but, I do enjoy seafood and fish to eat. I also enjoy fishing.

I do find it difficult to eat fish that have a particular fish look about them though, like if they were still the fish's body shape, or if they still had the head on.

I dislike seafood and only eat it when it is a family meal, or VERY rarely if I have a craving for smoked salmon. On the morality side of things, however, I'd eat dog meat if I thought it'd be good, so obviously I'm not going to be very bothered by seafood!

I like fish. Catfish, Salmon, Perch, and especially Soft-Shell Crabs. :D Yes, technically not a fish but it's apart of the debate. I also own cories, which are catfish and eventually plan to keep crabs when I set up saltwater.

I find it more strange when people eat their pets as opposed to animals related to their pets. I know in some Asian countries dog is on the menu and I had a classmate in one of my classes once who ate his after they died.

What did he say it tasted like? thats a thought actually, in my will i might request when i die im eaten by some cannibals, they could lime buy my corpse for an amount then that money goes to charity

Cannibalism is illegal, so I'm afraid that's not something you can request in your will. Well, you can request it, but it won't happen :p
However, I did read of someone who had half of his body fed to wild boars and the other half chopped up and thrown to the sea for fish to eat as a sort of apology for eating meat during his lifetime.

Cannibalism is illegal.

not in Camboida, perfectly legal there.

I'm am not a great lover of fish (food wise)
I have been known to eat the odd cod, hallibut, swordfish etc.
I do however love seafood ie prawns, crabs, whelks etc.
