Hi All

Ok I have set up my 54 Litre planted tank in Belgium now, going quite well. Just want peoples thoughts on this stocking.

4 Otocinclus sp. "Niger"
2 Apistogramma Agassizi "Tefe"
6 Nannostomus beckfordi

Is this ok, could anything else be added or am I pretty much stocked.

Thanks
Dave

I wouldn't add anything else in there. It's stocked quite well, maybe even a bit too much. Just remember to do water changes. :D

Sounds like a very nicely stocked tank to me. I don't think I would recommend adding anything. (got any pics?)

I do not have a camera with me out in Belguim but I will try and get some pics. The camera I have back in the uk is not the greatest however.

I actually really like this set up, more than my 400 litre, I had spent time thinking about what I wanted, rather than just chucking in anything like the 400 litre.

Thanks
Dave

it would probably be ok, remeber to pull off dieing leaves as they generate nitrite... well i recomend only getting 1 oc because I had alot of algy in my 20 gallon and he got rid of all of it by him self in about a 2 weeks, 4 in a 15 gallon would simply run out of food, unless you plan on useing algee tablets they dont show very well anywais, keep in mind that the dwarf cichlids are very territorial, my bolivan ram cichlid is makeing life miserable for my key hole cichlid I'm going to have to seperate them soon, if you want an interesting fish get a weather loach they have load of personality and they stay small.

I don't see a problem with getting 4 ottos. I feed mine algae wafers and they really enjoy them.

like i said if you feed plan on feeding them algee tablets they will do fine. *duh wafers too :p

I am already feeding them Algae wafers, the ones I got are jbl wafers (This is what most lfs in belgium have), I am not sure they are that great. I have the Hakari Algae wafers in the Uk and my fish in the 400 love them so will have to bring some back with me.

I think the Dwarf's will be fine, its a Male Beckford's Pencilfish thats a little agressive. It harrases all the female pencilfish, spars with the males and occasionally has a go at the Male/female apisto, never bothers the Oto's. These ones seem to be a little tougher than the normal oto's

I thought pencelfish were quite slow and placid fish, these ones are not, they are always out and about chasing each other.

I suppose I was asking whether I could add a shoal of either Lampeyes, or Microrasbora sp galaxy (If I can get hold of them) something pretty small really.
