What Do You Think, Ich?

hi, i've noticed that some of my fish are scraping themselves along the sand in my tank. at first i though ich, but i've checked all of the fish for white spots, which are not present, and it is only very occasional scraping. i only see one fish scrape itself every few days, and i've read that that can be normal behaviour.

what do you think?

if its not frequent then i wouldnt be too concerned just yet. maybe do a good water change and clean the substrate and see how things go. fish do get itches just like us and may scratch themselves now and then but if it becomes often and frequent then something is irritating them but without the obvious signs say of ich its difficult to diagnose the issue. im sure your water is ok but have you tested it?

thanks for the advise, i'll do a water change and clean tomorrow night. my water is fine, no ammonia or nitrite, nitrate at about 20.
