But as I said above, it depends on the quality of all those things. You could get a really crap filter for example.

I always recommend second hand unless you are after something out of the ordinary or have the money to spend.

I got mine 29 setup stated above from wal-mart. The filter is actually pretty good on it considering I have SO MANY mollies in that tank.

Er... you can get just the glass of a 160l (about 45US) for £40 here and a hood for about £60.

You need to do more shopping around!!

I'd shop around if I was planning on buying one. I was just meaning, that was the average price in the lfs near me. with hood. but still!

in fact now i think of it i saw a second hand 10g for £4 the other day. i was so tempted
