Er... you can get just the glass of a 160l (about 45US) for £40 here and a hood for about £60.

You need to do more shopping around!!

We're talking £ here matey. Also, I suppose it depends on the quality of what you are getting. I got a clear seal tank and a marina hood for £100 new. Seems pretty good to me. Although going second hand is always the best idea. My cibe was £40 including hood.
