A few people on another forum (very good betta forum) fell that my new boy elvis may have some HM in his lines somewhere down the road, due to the look of his dorsal and his wider then normal tail span, so I was thinking of breeding him to my super delta female, Minnie, they look so much a like its scary. Let me know what you think!

I wouldn't personally. He just looks like a normal VT to me (not that there's anything wrong with VTs, just not for breeding). I sincerely doubt he's got HM lines since he only has two rays in his tail still. Both are very pretty fish though.

When I saw Elvis on your other post I rememberd that you had a girl very similar in colouring.
They sure would make beautiful fry! Ive never seen a betta with that colouring in the UK, Im sure they are around though! If I lived near you I sure would have 1 of the fry!

Just because he only has 2 rays doesn't mean he couldn't have something else down there besides veiltail. I'm also not one of those people who are against breeding veiltails, I see nothing wrong with it as long as your responsible about it and have a place for the babies to go. A very respected breeder said she thinks he may have HM in him.

Theres no real way to tell what he has in him. He is pretty though. Not sure what fry you would get, probably only VTs esp for F1

You're right, there's really no way since either way the fry will be VTs... if you don't mind that then go for it, but if you're looking to get anything else, that's not the way to go.

I say go for it if you have homes for them!
I'd be tempted to take one or 2 off your hands if I had another tank lol. I just love that Minnie!
