Prime, 3 drops per US gallon. I think safe is different, but I'm not positive.

I use The Pond Doctor de-chlorinator - huge bottle cheap as chips which lasts me for a year and I have a 250L tank. Everyone should use it it will save you so much money! Pond de-chlorinator is hard to get in the fish shops as its a seasonal thing so I buy it online in ebay. Also add liquid plant food which - yeah you guess I also buy online in Ebay! :fish:

Prime for me too, though, like Gilli, I have used pond dechlor in the past with no problems, and they're both much more economical options than the normal 'aquarium' stuff.

Nothing else, just dechlor.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this, But a double dose of API Stress Coat+ and a half dose of API Stress Zyme+

Prime seems to be a popular one but it's fairly pricey. What're the dosage requirements like? Would I go through a bottle in a matter of weeks?

My LFS sells Stress Coat+ for £5 per 473ml and they also sell Prime for £14.99 per 500ml

I've worked it out (I hope my maths was correct!) as 0.25mls per 10 litres, which is a very small amount. Pricey to buy at first, but will last you a loooooong time! You will need a 1ml plastic syringe for measuring though!

I have zero faith in things like Stress Zyme/coat. If your fish are otherwise healthy, they are more than capable of creating their own slime

Only reason I'm using API's products are because I've used them since I started and never had a problem with them :p I might try Prime next time I run out of Stress Coat+

Are there any/many benefits to using Prime over Stress Coat?

Only use Stress Zyme in my QT tank which has a gravel bed and needs the sludge breaking down fast when it's been in use/standing for a while. I churn the gravel around every so often too, to help keep detritus in the water circulation.

A litre of Pond Doctor dechlorinator and water conditioner removes all harmfull chlorine including chloramines and all harmfull metal ions and costs £14.28. The doseage is 10ml (or two teaspoons teaspoons) per 50 gallons of water so you can see how long it will last!i cant understand people buying the expensive stuff week after week!
