Several weeks ago I bought some plants, Anubais on a piece of wood and some java fern which I have attached to some wood and some slate. The anubais has grown very well and has grown loads of leaves and larger. has started getting brown spots and small holes, The java fern is a light green colour and has dark parts and holes in the leaves and hasnt grown much.

A couple of days ago I bought some more plants,

Anubais - has very big leaves
java fern - much thinner and darker green leaves than the ones I bought previous
glossostigma elatinoides,
nomaphila stricta,
and an unlabled plant (small) that looks like lettuce?

The shop assistant recommended some clay balls that go under the plant roots, but besides that I
dont know what I should be adding, some kind of ferts or nutrients? or both? I have never had aquarium plants before so really dont have a clue

Please help get me on the right track to a nice looking planted tank :good:
