What Diy Thing Have You Totally Butched?

Well I bought that used 55g, and had this bright idea to try and reseal it. The first time turned out so horrible, I didn't want to even take a picture of it, it was really bad!! I had silicone all over the tank, my bf ran the bead, and put in way to much, plus we didnt tape it off. So it was pretty much a disaster!! So I had the day off yesterday and peeled all the silicone out and went to the hardware store, bought tape, a plastic putty scrapper and more razor blade. The second time wasn't so bad, but my finger tips are raw, My garage is a mess, but the tank is sealed and that's all it matters!!!!

After setting up my 320L and filling it, I went to install the light fixtures at the back of the stand. Unfortunately, the two pieces of wood that had the pre-drilled holes for the screws had been placed the wrong way round (top to bottom). This meaant it didn't align with the metal bracket and now the lights are precariously connected to the stand using screws in holes too big for them.

It was either that or draining the thing and asking the wife to help lift it again. I couldn't stand the humilation!

Well going waaaaay back in the day, we moved house, i rushed over with tank to set up, back then had a strip unit on inside door, wiring cables into it, bearing in mind it was live, yes obviously super Nelly went ta da daaaaaar, just as my sister walked in room, i flew across room and crashed straight into her, NEVER Have i lived that down,

Build a hood for rio 400. Complete with 4xt5, fans for summer, moon lighting, digital thermostat, and timers. Finished with gloss paint and teak wood trimming on edges.

Then I cut holes for intanke and outflow pipes.. Front of the hood.

For some reason i decided to balance the light unit on the back of the tank whilst i moved some plants about in the tank, I shut the door on the tank stand which caused the light unit to fall down behind the tank and smash the tubes.. I spent the next 3 hours draining the tank down so it could be moved, the glass cleaned up and re-filled again.

Got a Arcadia luminair didnt want to pay £20 for the hanging kit so got some fine braded cable and drilled the light took it apart pit it together then it wouldn't work so took it Dow took it apart and I had pulled a wire loose pushed it back into the fitting ( a push wire clip not solder lol) put it together and then it worked fine
