 You cant do it by colur you have to go to the shop and one will look at you, and you will be smitten  and you wont care wht colour he is!

For all the fancy tail varieties out there now, and all that finnage, there is still something to be said about a perfectly red VT with no wash. It's just a good-looking fish.

Are you placing him in a tank or bowl? If a plain bowl, then you should get a single-color betta - like a bright red or opaque black. That way, he would be a nice centerpiece. If you are placing him in a tank, get a color(s) that would contrast with the gravel/plants.

I like any color and white. I have a purple and yellowish-white. They're beautiful~! :D

Whatever color you like. Like liz2 said, just look a them all at your LFS... you'll fall in love with one and whatever the color, that'll be that. :D

I can never find them, but they're my favorite.

Try to find a black and gold betta. Or an albino.

Sometimes I go, and I just want to look and find one I like. Then I will usually ask the clerk if they have a recommendation. It was a clerk that first turned me on to the great red ones they get at their shop. (My lps keeps most of theirs locked up, so you need a clerk to get them for you.) Then chose some that catch my eye and put them all up on the counter and chose based on guts.

But sometimes I want a specific color, like this time. I again choce the ones that I take a fancy to. After not being able to make a final choice I always take two. haha

But I am always looking for a cellophane or seethrough fins or white, but I have not seen one that caught my eye. They just don't get really nice ones of those.

My final choice will always be a boy that wiggles and dances and looks me in the eye to get my attention. Active and no chewed fins. I'm not there for a fish to save. I'm not good at that, anyway.
