Well i am stting up a 12 UK gallon 15us tank. I want 2 fish, what can i get. I am moving them to a 24 gallon tank in 6 months but i want to start this one. I will have 6 ish KG LR.

If i just had 1 unique fish that would be ok.
any suggestions?

Thanks
sean

do jawfish need a DSB and also i have seen some amazing firefish at my LFS. Cool i will think about this one.

There are some weird looking clownfish that you can get. Like black ones or some that are missing all there bars :fun: Those are fun to keep.

I just noticed that whenever someone asks for stocking options I directly go to Clownfish  -_- For unique fish Blenny's are fun to watch, they hover over the sand :D

What about a scooter blenny and a firefish or clownfish or jawfish?
Which one?

You can get clownfish + Blenny= FUN Just make sure to get something out of the ordinary clownfish, there always fun to look at. My firefish is a pussy, he comes out stays out for a little while goes back in. Jawfish also hide and don't swim around much. You can try a yellow watchman goby that are fun to watch.

I did hear about the firefish, well at the LFS they dont have anywhere to hide so thats prolly why they are out.
I will do a Black clown, SB or watchman gobie.
I will do research on the scooter and the watchman.
Thanks

Yeah my LFS keeps all the fast dartfish in small cubicals. Sad to see which gives me more of a reason to buy them before the turn belly up. Most of them do BTW. I remeber seeing 2 small tangs in one cubical. It sucked watching because they had Ich and we're scratching themselves like crazy  The fish in the cubicals usually get sold quickly though.

Scooter blennies can be tough to get on food just like mandarin gobies... Not the best fish for a beginner I'm afraid :/

Yellow watchmen are lovely but I have been looking for one for a while and don't seem to be able to find any!! I don't know if you'll have the same problem...

I have a maroon clown which is just beautiful and full of character, he loves his food too, he steals the whole block of frozen brine shrimp and takes it to his hidey hole to eat all to himself!

I have seen a beautiful maroon clown at my LFS but the tank iom setting up is far to small for one. I dont even know about the 24. I think thats to small aswell. I am doing a FOWLR incase anyone was wondering.

I think that you have to watch with firefish is that they can jump, so something to consider if you don't have a cover.

a 12 is very small if you are getting a 24 soon then maybe you could think about getting all the crabs and snails and shrimp and then add the fish after you have got the 24. The CUC can be very amusing to watch. Just a thought.

As for fish I think it has to be clowns ;) get a pair of small tank bred.

Thanks, could a fuzzy dwarf lion go in the 24 if yes. What 1 other fish could go in there with him? They are so unique. Thanks

24G is probably too small for a fuzzy dwarf, they get 7-8". They also will eat smaller fish, so if I were you I wouldn't mix them with small Clownfish, Gobies, etc. There really isn't much that can go with a lionfish in
a 24. Most eels mix well with lionfish, but there aren't many eels suitable for 24G.
