I don't do donuts, or even cake, with rare exceptions such as getting a Boston cream pie once a year or so.

I do eat a fruit based pastry now and then. They are really good and are from Omaha Steaks; I pretty much get a 4-pack free every time I order. They are small tarts with a pastry dough finger wrap. I get either apple, which is like apple pie, or a tri-berry which is a mix of blueberry, raspberry and black berry.

Regardless of all that it is a deal I ride 100 miles to get --- NOT!

I wonder if it could be a miss print? My local grocery does day old deals on donuts, pies and such. Day old donuts are 50% off and, I think, pies and cakes go 50% off after 2-3 days.

Ooh! I actually prefer slightly stale donuts. At my old office, if they had donuts when I was on leave and there were some left uneaten, they would be put in my desk drawer for my return. The crustier the better!

It's been a very long time since I ate a donut, since they have a way of reappearing stretched out around my gut. I wouldn't spend 5 bucks on a box of them. But 4.99? They might have me there.
My body is a temple, but with moneychangers on the front steps. It's hard to say no to a great deal like that!

I was once doing a fundraiser for a school project, and the t-shirts we were selling were $11 each. No one was buying, so I made a sign saying $11 each, two for $25. I brought in $75 from parents within 15 minutes. It was a good lesson for the student helpers. People don't read the first half of sentences, or the first few posts in a lot of discussions. Plus staying in school if you're being taught critical thinking has high value...

Now that is funny 2 for $25 brought in the crowd - so i'm wondering how many paid $25 for 2 and how many paid $22 for 2 ?

That is like people will actually pay more for an item on-line if it has free shipping even if the item is priced high enough to cost more than the other with shipping.

My husband & I met working in a grocery store bakery, so I'm a bit of donut (& ryebread) snob. When I visited my mom "back home" I would buy 2 donuts (if they had the good 1s) & cut them into 1/4 "serving sizes". That's as much grease & sugar I enjoy anymore. All I can say is "beware the glaze!". It ate through several pairs of my rubber shoe soles...or maybe the heavy duty floor cleaners....Glaze & oil were reused for a long time...eww!

Why bother cutting the donuts into 4 pieces when you can just buy donut holes (called munchkins at Dunkin’)
