well i am now the fater of 3 guppies (well thats hoe many i c) i notised them today a few days ago 1 of my guppies died and when it fished it out it had a big bulgy bellie that looked like it was split so i assume that was the guppie thta gave bitrh my 3 babie guppies are doing fine by the ooks of it non of the other fish seem like ther intrested in eating them what is good as i have nowhere to put them :) what sort of special care do these need like food ect they look relitively happy all in a nice groupe my other guppie that is an adult does not sem to intrested in them so what should i do.

also i brought 6 neon tetras today aswel ity wAS not till i got them home i notised ther tails and tfins are damaged will thye gow back? i nwould recomend that no1 buys any fish from blaby pet cnter now as they had in nippers in with ther tetras i only just reasised what happened.

Congrats on the babies. They should be able to take finely crushed flake, or you can buy special baby food (which is basically crushed flake). If you have a planted tank, they will also help themselves to little microorganisms from the plants.

As for the tetras: if their tail damage is only due to nipping they should grow back without problems as long as your water stats are good. I put a young guppy in my community tank a fortnight ago and while I was putting the lid on somebody had half its tail. :/ Quickly whipped it out and stuck it in the fry tank- 2 weeks later and the tail has almost grown back.

If however, the damage is due to finrot, you may need to treat for that- in the first instance with finrot medication, and if that doesn't help with medication against bacterial infection.

I was going to try blaby pet shop as well-give that a wide berth then! :D

yeah thers a good 1 in birstall friends in soggy homes

also how will i know if its fin rot?

is it a clean nip or does it look sort of ragged at the edges (more likely to be finrot in the latter case)? if it does not start healing within a few days, I would treat for finrot anyway, as secondary finrot can easily develop in a cut. be extra careful to keep water clean for them.

okay cheers mate and acually my babie fish are mollies looks like i have alot more to come aswell
