 :-( :/

His fins are almost completely gone now, and I've tried everything I know. I did a full water change this evening and added myacin I and II, plus a little copper safe and some aquarium salt. this morning he looked about the same, but by the time I got off work he looked worse than ever, all back fins were off (just a lil nub!) white growth (large) on his face, and saddle back... :/

i feel so bad for the poor little guy! he had begun eating yesterday and even made a little bubble nest..but he got worse again over night. he began struggling to breathe tonight and now is barely floating around breathing very heavy off and on and sometimes hardly even moving his gills but every few minutes. he keeps suddenly twitching, then almost lying at the bottom. last time i looked his head was at the bottom and he was kinda floating tail up. my husband (who isn't much into fish) even came in and saw him tonight and got a little emotional. said it reminds him that we will die someday and we had a little moment of "wow, we may not always be together"...my little feef was the first fish that inspired me to start buying more aquariums and as many fish as I have now.

I hate seeing him suffer and I know we have had multiple topics about this, but do you think it would be faster to take him out of the water? i don't want him to suffer through the night...

:-(

I'll miss him.

Definitely do not take him out of the water. Bettas can live out of water for quite some time, and will only die when they're dried out. That would be a long, slow death. :(

The only two humane ways of euthanasia for fish is crushing the head (making sure you destroy the brain) or by using a clove oil solution.

I'm sorry about your little guy. :(
