thats horrible!!!!
mines completely healthy, could u by any chance give a picture of him/her ?
im sure i can rule out a stroke.

not completely healthy other wise he would be swimming normally.....

mine was fine 1 day on his side the next.....why rule a stroke out, he might of had not such a severe one as mine.

I dont tend to take pics of ill fish, I only have ones of before the 'stroke'

hes stunning :) its a shame when a fish gets ill.
i think i could rule out a streoke because beseids the fact he sinks to the bottom after swimming areound, hes perfectly healthy, aggressive and adventerous.
i would assuema stroke like yours would kill his appetite or injure him.
äc

i had a convict that did the same.

only left the floor for food but moved around quite a bit (jus on the bottom of the tank)

did this for about a month before he got alot worse and i had to kill him.

never found out what happened.

I dont keep cichlids but if hes swimming head up tail down to me that suggests a swimbladder issue as thats usually how fish with a swim bladder problem swim, usually constipation makes them swim head down. Its worth trying feeding him some peas to see if its constipation though. In general peas are good for most fish. Im not a cichlid expert though by any means.

Some cichlids usually act in the 'heads up' position. But as I said earlier, feed him peas, with the shell on. Ohhh, for a really huge fish with a big anus (like a pacu) feed a peice of corn with the shell on. He'll poo out corn Lmao!

hes bored, I have had a couple fish do that when they were bored, espically my JD and my RD. for the RD all I had to do was to flatten out his gravel piles. the JD liked a ping pong ball with some drill holes in em on the bottom of his tank

You don't want a few of my guppies to get him gonig do you :shifty:
