Weird Question About Tetratec 600

Hey

when i first got my tank a good few months ago it came with a broken ex 600 for free which had a leak i was trying to figure out the leak when i first got it and while doing so managed to snap the impellor shaft and then figured out what might be causing the leak!

so saw it today and thought i would trying sticking the shaft back together its a clean split and fits back together perfectly problem is because its ceramic nothing will stick it together and im not paying the extortionate rates for a new shaft without knowing if i have actually fixed the leak!

so my question what sticks ceramic together?? i have tried modelling glue (all i had) i tried sealant i tried sticky tape lol

would normal super glue work? i can pick some up tommorow if it will i will buy a new one once i know i have fixed the leak.

Gorrilla Glue, My girlfriends grandad managed to stick his car door shut when trying to stick his rubber seal back on had to kick it from inside! Araldite, use this at work some time when installing leds into signs (have even used this to stick metal together and cant prise it off! Not sure if theyll be aquarium safe look it up first.

is it expensive?

and it does not have to be aquarium safe i will be running it into a bucket until i fix the leak then i will buy a new shaft for it just seems pointless spending money on a expensive shaft bit when i cant fix the leak lol

Basically like superglue but if you get something stuck to you, it will take the skin off or tak a while to wear down. £2.95 on here isnt the stuff we use but says it does tiles.

I snapped my spindle in the 700 last week,i broke it near the top end,but i managed to get it running buy turning the spindle around putting the broken part inside the motor propeller and thankfully it kept running for a day until my new one arrived

I tried superglue and it doesn't work.

A cocktail stick has worked for me in the past as a temporary shaft till a new one has arrived.

depending on the width of the shaft, you should ideally try to pin the join

Pick up a cheap hand drill/pin vice etc. and grab a dril bit the same diameter as a paper clip. bore through either side of the break. mix up some aralidite, or use gorilla glue or similar, clip part of the paper clip shaft to make a 'pin' affis into one side of the break and when dry, apply glue to surface of break and pin shaft and insert. this will provide the strongest possible repair.

yeah but there £10 and glad i did not buy them the cocktail stick worked and the leak it has is unfixable i found whats causing it but unable to fix it i would need a whole new head for it can you buy them seperatly??

or am i going to have to buy a new one?

ps. its not one thing leaking its a whole side dropping loads of water out(multiple peices of plastic snapped) tryed sealing it over with sealant oand on the biggest bit some tile but no luck
