weird issue and behavior

Hi I jus set up a 10 g tank about a week ago and i have 2 guppes and 2 swordtails in it. One of my guppy died out of nowhere. I fed it in the mornig and he was moving around swiming like there is nothing wrong. Four hours later i saw it dead at the bottom. i dont know if this help but the male swordtail i have seems to be bitting other fish, also the guppy turn from blue to really light blue almost white at some area.


A strange behavior with my other guupy is that it lays at the top of the water very still and it will goes sideways, but then when i tab the glass a bit it will start moving a gain dats just weird. it seems fine in the morining moving around. now it jus stop.

o and by the way i got my water tested by 2 different store and they say it was fine.

first you might want to cycle you tank to make sure all the levels of certain chemicals are right... usually cycling a tank takes a month sometimes more maybe some one else can give you more info... first fish usually die... needs good batercia

When they told you your water chemistry was "fine" Did they give you any specifics? You can't always trust what the LFS says, you want ammonia and nitrite to be zero.

Swordtails really ought to be kept with 2 females to every male.

i dont know if this help but the male swordtail i have seems to be bitting other fish

I've had a male swordtail before and I think this is just what they do. Got rid of mine.
