I have a ten gallon aquarium and has been running smoothly, doing weekly water changes. But recently I have noticed some brown spots on the gravel, decor and on my Anubis nana. I have just been wondering if it is anything to worry about.
p.s. I am pretty new to fish keeping so I apologize if it is a careless mistake

Does it wipe off easily? Looks like brown algae. It usually breaks out with new tanks but can show up in established tanks too. Brown algae is actually diatoms which are feeding off of silicates in the water. Again, this usually occurs in newer tanks. All you can do is clean it off, vacuum your substrate and do weekly water changes. It will eventually go away in several months on its own. It won’t hurt your fish. It just looks ugly. Good luck!
