We Got 1

Funny to think we know more about the moon than the deep blue sea... :S

i mean like a squid copming up and touching the boats.

man that would be a awsome tourist attraction in a aquarium

i think it'd lose it's appeal the first few times someone got eaten ;) it's not uncommon for sperm whale carcasses to surface periodically missing giant chunks with lots of sucker marks all over them. if a giant squid can take out an adult sperm whale, then i doubt that some aluminum or a little bit of fibreglass is going to keep one out of the people-snacks.

there was a thread about this a few weeks ago.

The squid is actually a collosal squid, much larger then the giant squid.
i wonder what size tank you need for that baby :p

No - seriously the babies are tiny little things. Referrering back to the fore-mentioned documentary I have - they are trying to hunt babies and they are probably no bigger than a betta I guess!

One of the fastest growing animals in the world from baby size to adult size - seriously, there not that big at all when there babies, after all the adult does give birth to about 3,000 of them each spawing. However, only a handful survive - I must watch that documentary again!

What so sad is that they pulled one of its legs (tenticals) off whilst filming it....they hooked it on a masive hook thing which had a chunk of bait on it...the poor bl''dy thing then had to rip its own leg off to escape....What price a photograph then... :/
