Kev and I are just in the process of setting up our new breeding setup, and are kitting out the tanks as we go really - we are used air-powered box filters - these work very well and we have several on some tanks BUT as you can imagine, in the bigger tanks there is no real water circulation or movement, so we need to couple the air filters with a powerhead of some description which simply acts to get the water moving around the tank.
My question is should I use a wavemaker or a powerhead and does it make a difference?
We are keeping various different plecos in these tanks so the more water movement the better really - nothing is too turbulent for these guys!
Only thing I need to consider is baby-proofing for the fry tanks - but presuming I can cover the thing with netting easily enough.
