Water Test

hi all. just done a water test on my tank and just want to make sure the stats are fine.

my results are

ammonia = 0
ph = 6.5
nitrite = 0.1
nitrate = 10

also would these conditions be good enough to keep discus as planning in the future to keep some.

You will need a 0 reading for nitrIte too mate, discus are extremely sensitive species and wont tolerate any ammonia or nitrIte.

Which test kit are you using?

i am using the nutrafin liquid mini master test kit. got delivered today. i got it free the practical fish keeping magazine this month for joining. is this test kit a good one

Its one of the better ones, yes. Redo the test (following the instructions to the letter.) If you've got any ammonia or nitrite showing its a bad sign, do a big water change (assuming you're not fishless cycling at the moment.)

As for keeping discus, its worth posting in New World Cichlids forum - discus are a difficult to keep fish so you need to fully research whether or not they'd be an option for your tank.
