Hello everyone just done a water test using an API Master water kit and results are as follows:
PH - 7.4
Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 10

I have 2 gold algae eaters, 6 neon tetras, 2 guppies, 1 platy.

Are my readings good?? First time i have tested it

Any info appreciated

Thanks for reading

How big is the tank and how long have fish been in it?

Did you cycle the tank in any way before adding fish?

The answer to are the reading ok will depend on the above mate :good:

The instructions in your API kit will tell you some. I also like this article:

Your PH is neutral, provided you used both high and low range tests to make sure its in between the two. (It will show as the highest low-range, the lowest high-range).

Your ammonia and nitrites should be 0 in a cycled tank. Nitrates are what is produced, and will slowly creep up, and will be diluted by your water change (this is the big reason for water changes).

Hi tank is 180l, with mature filter media, had it running for a week with no fish and then added fish. Fish have been in there for a week now, so 2 weeks in total

Ah ah ok have a good read of this if you want to keep said fishies alive :good:
