Water Level

I have a 36 gallon bow front tank, black plastic frame along the top … how high should I fill the tank with water? To the bottom of the frame? Above the bottom of the frame? A bit below the bottom of the frame?

Part of the function of the 'frame' is to hide the water surface, so you can fill it just over the bottom of the frame.

You can fill that tank to any level that pleases you. There are some practical considerations such as minimum water levels for filters but other than that just pick a level that you like.

If I fill mine too far above the frame a small trickle of water comes down the glass. This will depend on the make of the tank.
