I have been looking at keeping fish for a while now, and im nearly there. Im currently cycling my tank.

I am a partner in a business that sells sinks and taps, however over the past couple of years we have started dealing in water filters.

Im not sure if this question has been asked before but am i able to use this water that comes from the water filter for water changes, ie. not have to dechlorinate?

Hope someone can help me!!

Thanks

Rich

Unless you have a large charcoal cannister inline you will have to dechlorinate. These are often used in auto water change systems, and you do have to keep an eye on how many gallons you have run through them & replace them at regular intervals.

what is the benefit of using this water, better to jst use tap then dechlorinate it or if you dont want dechlorinator use bottled mineral water- expensive!!

What type of filters are they? Remember that some water authorities use chloramines, which will need the addition of a dechlorinator that removes chloramine to remove it.

Bottled mineral water is often worse for fishkeeping use than tap water AdAnderws, so not something I would recomend :good:

What type of water filter are you inquiring about? There are many types available, some more suitable than others, some more risky to use than others...

All the best
