My set up is an AquaOne 850 (155ltr)

Now then, I do a 20% water change every 5 days. As my filtration system is excellent I test for ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, once a month.

I do my once a month water test 2 days AFTER a 20% water change. This has led me into wondering when you guys do yours......

1) no particular time

2) right AFTER a water change

3) right BEFORE a water change

4) X amount of days after a water change

We generally test ours a few hours after doing a water change. We also tend to test the water everytime we are about to add fish and a day after we've added fish...

I test mine every couple of days. I don't have a set time to do it, I just think "It's 3 days since I last tested" and I go ahead and do it.

I test the ph on my tanks weekly(particually planted tank), other than that I dont test. Its a hassle :look:

the big tank only gets a Ph test once a week , the other tests i might do once very other month, for the little tank i do every test once a week as its a lot less stable than the big tank (needs a better filter i think)

I test weekly unless something seems to be wrong.

I've had to do 30% water changes daily because of high nitrite, but other than that I do 30% weekly, and vacuum once every 2 months, sometimes every month.

i dont really test my water , if i see a porblem i will but other than that i dont see any reason to test my water every week or what ever. i surpose its always good practice but i have never had any problems.

All tanks get a weekly water change.. all tanks get tested weekly.

I will test mid-way between the water changes...
for example - if my Tropical Community Tank #1 Gets a water change on a Monday, I will test on a Thursday.

I only test mine if there is a problem.

If I were to do regular water changes I would test it before the water change. This way i could tell how the current stocking was affecting the nitrate levels for example.

Squid.

All if my tanks get a weekly water changes, some of my smaller (1-2.5 gallon) betta tanks will get water changes twice a week. I'm really not one to constantly test the water, if I see something that seems off, or if I have a sick fish I'll test it, but other then that I don't really (Once the tank is cycled of course) and I've never had a problem.

i'm amazed how often some people test they're water, tbh once a tank's mature if nothings changed i don't see all that much point doing it regularly, i know my fish, it's obvious if somethings wrong and i'll test the water then
