Nope, it'll be fine if you do regular small/average sized water changes in your tank

. Is there any particular reason like water quality issues or sick fish that you are doing regular water changes?
just cylcled my tank and dumped a load of cichlids in so want to help the filters out by doing water changes
so yeah to help my water quality
I take it you did a fishless cycle? Or just a normal one with fish? Test the water regually for ammonia and nitrites everytime before you do a water change, how many gallons is the tank and what sort of/how many fish did you add?
If you did a fishless cycle (i.e. cycled the tank by adding pure ammonia to it for a couple of weeks while regually testing water quality for ammonia, nitrates and nitrites) and haven't overstocked the tank, it may be fine, if you did a cycle with fish or some sort of other method of cycling tanks, you may face water quality issues for a while depending on what the current situation is.
