Just as long as none of your friends are risk assessment officers you'll be fine, as they'd probably have a heart attack.
All the relevant info has been mentioned already imo, any water really would short out the circuit before any damage is done, but this can be avoided by a tightly fitting hood and drip loops.
In my mind its the useability of the plugs that would be the main issue, as long as you don't need access to those plug sockets more than like once a year you'll be fine... as I'm sure you know, tanks full of water don't like to move.
