O GOD YES! Most deffientaly get one or even a few! I have 3 females in my 10 gallon who ive had for 3 years. One of which i saved from one of those absolutely rotten cups they put them in. It makes me extremely sad when i see them like that.. i just had to get her.

Also i have a question for you guys i have a female.. who they said was a female. Shes beautiful.. but her fins are long not as long as a males and is bigger than the other females.. Is she even a girl?

It all depends on the size of the vase! Bettas can be kept in a minimum of 1 gallon but 2.5 gallons is a lot better and 5 gallons would be better still!

Wilder, any fish you ever get would be extremely lucky to have you care for them. You are full of information about fish and sicknesses, i know that any fish you choose will be healthy and live a long life, if unhealthy, then i know you will fix it. Betta fish, I find each has a distinct personality. and they seem happy to see you when you walk into the room, even if it might just be for food, it is nice to see them wiggle their bums at you, trying to get your attention. That's what my office betta here does as I sit at my desk.

I think you should go for it and get one, but watch out, it is addicting!
