Warning!

the above is what can happen when u realese ur pet fish into the local water ways, this is not the only place where this has happend and its becoming a trend. the snails in that story are the very same kept my many tropical aquarium hobbieists, its destroying the local wildlife and does not belong there. please refraim from ever realeaseing your critters into ur backyard pond, stream or river.

Morons -_- Even if I was stupid enough to release pets into the wild, they wouldn't make it past winter, but releasing them in such a warm place is just ridiculously ignorant and stupid.

no kidding, these things are going to ruin this envirment and all it took was one idiot to dump his aquarium into the rinver :/

yeah..I heard a story of someone releasing a pet piranha into the local lake...wreaked havoc on the ecosystem till it was caught a few months later..why would anyone want to do that?

actually, that's what they thought about the snakeheads in Maryland's winters... ah, the wonderful adaptive power of Mother Nature!
Maryland is a bit warmer than NY, and since I live on long island, no fish would be getting to the mainland (Unless they could cross the bridge to NYC  ) :p

far as i'm concerned, they're both cold. i tremble lest i enter 40 degreesF with no coat; but i do love an excuse to bust out the scarves and hats! :blisses out over winter accessories:

you know, now that you mention it, wouldn't it be hilarious to see a climbing perch "legging it" over the bridge?

I have 3 of those, and I have no Idea why they are called climbing perches  There are some catfish that can walk, but I think they'd be seagull food on a busy bridge over the ocean

I would love for the temp to be at least 40 degrees  It's been about 28 for the past three days :S

Let's just wait for the moron to say, "Hey if we dump some clown loaches in there they would get rid of all the snails!" But seriously, dumping a non-native fish into local rivers and lakes is stupid.

That's actually the first thing that popped into my mind after I read that article  Some moron wanting to add loaches in

Right on GD
Florida waterways now suffer, Oscars, water hyicinth, and many others. not to mention on land envasive mellaluca, austrailian pine, brazilian pepper, poison toads and New Yorkers.
Saw a bumper sticker, the other day." Help Save Floridia , Send a New Yorker Home With A Trunk Load of Oscars." :D
Your signature (?) thing about suffacating . Is that a poem or song or something? Purtey skerry :( .
All the best, KF

Stupid people. There was a story I heard that someone dumped his terrapin in Baffins Pond (at the end of the road, its a lot bigger than a pond), and it was in there so long and grew big, and it bit the legs off of ducks. :dunno: It would be cool to see it if it was true...

Arg. It's stupid actions like that (releasing non-native fish/snails/plants/etc. into the wild) that gets pets banned in certain states too.

Legislators figure, well if one moron is going to dump them in the lake/river/whatever, then we better ban them all together so NO one can POSSIBLY dump them into our waterways. Typical. The actions of a few idiots gets everyone punished.
