/www.wharfaquatics.co.ukWell im a man of my word, went there today! Took a wrong turn once i got into pinxton though and got losts but after a couple of minutes driving i found the place, and what a place it is! ITS MASSIVE, there are so many tanks of fish i didnt know which way to look, massive tropical room, massive coldwater room, massive marine room and even a room with reptiles and spiders and such. Amazing selection of big fish too, there display tank is massive and has got some huge fish in it, ie arrowana, red tailed cat etc. But yeah if you would fairly big sized fish then this is the place for you, they had arrowanas, about 4 types of knife fish, lungfish, wolf fish, various cichlids, lots of different large catfish and plecs etc etc etc, the list goes on a long way. They good an excellent selection of smaller fish though, woulda been nice if they had some freshwater inverts apart from the blue lobster though but apart from that there selection was great. Ok my rant is over, i did pick myself up a pair of apistogramms cacatuoides which im very pleased with, £14.95 for the pair seemed a bit steep though? Saying that the only other place ive seen then near me they looked alot less healthy than these ones, i got a great looking male and female so im happy![]()
i keep meaning to go there. i live in nottingham which isn't far away but always seem to go to the closer shops. new years resoluation (late though) - is to go this year
i tend to use world of water (nr woodborough) mainly but have also bought fish from floralands at lambley. i bought my aqua one tank from brookfields on mapperley top and have bought a few fish from there as well. I always seem to get what i want from one or the other so i've never needed to go to pinxton though i do fancy a trip just for curiosity.
