Wanting Some New Fish But Dont Know What To Get. Any Ideas?

i would like some more fish but would like some that are really interesting to look at. cant be ones that get too big and would need to be peacefull. just wanted something a bit different and dont know that many species. any ideas would be usefull. i have a 64l tank with 3 female sunburst platys and 1 male(henry), 2 brown loaches(rex and kelly),1 plec(J.D), 5 neon tetras(splinter, raphael,donatello,michaelangelo and leonardo), 2 male guppies(al and norman)(had 3 but one died), 2 dwarf gouramis(wilson and achilles), 1 siamese algea eater(bridget) and 1 red tailed shark(sharky)

I'd say the tank is full, with high possibilities of problems as you red tailed shark grows because they become highly aggressive once they hit maturity.

What type of loaches do you have?
What type of plec is it?

bit over stocked there - The plec will fast outgrow the tank as will the siamese algae eater and red tailed shark.....

What are the loaches? Brown loach isnt a great way to describe them. I would say you would be fully stocked with

2 Dwarf Gourami
2 Male Guppies
4 Sunburst Platies
5 Neon Tetras
and maybe the loaches if they are suitable - like if they are khuli loaches etc

im considering getting rid of the shark as it has shown signs of aggression already the loaches are just brown loaches. vthere verry small and thin almost snake like. not sure what type of plec but hes very young and if he gets too big i will find him a new home x

Yeah okay the loaches will either be khulli loaches or dojo loaches let me know which, if its the khulli loaches get an other three and they will do well in your tank if they are dojos get rid they get massive. The plec will outgrow the tank but if you want a plec for that sized tank look at pitbull plecs they stay really small.

i researched the loaches when i got them n there not meant to get that big and most of the time they are hidden at the bottom of the tank x

You seem overstocked, I would rehome the shark and SAE,then re-evaluate your stocking x

lookin at pics of pittbull plecs they look just like mine and just lookd at loaches online and the loaches are brown khulli loaches

I would rehome the shark and the SAE and post pics of the plec cos small commons do look like pitbulls a fair bit.

Agree with most of what has been said above.

I wouldnt go on what your lfs says, most will tell you black is white if it means they get a sale and make money, thats what they are there to do, at the end of the day they are a business and are out to make a profit. Not saying all are like that but a good 75% are, especially your big chains.

Small family owned lfs are usually your best because you'll normally find they care about what they are selling.

i understand your point but this store is usually really honest with me and has told me when fish are likely to be aggresive or arent suitable in the past. but they can make mistakes too so ill let u guys decide. just tryin 2 get a pic of him still.
