wanted floaters, got floaters and ... horned nerites?

im wondering how to make it so that the nerite snail shells dont have white spots on them from lack of calcuim. also general care bc I only have a golden mystery snail

How hard is your water, you can get a bird cuddle bone and break it up into tiny pieces. Put some in your tank and some in your filter, the cuddle bone will slowly de-solve into the water, it is a good source of calcium.

Not really because nerites are algae eaters, but they also eat a lot of scum that forms on the inside of the tank everywhere.

so algae wafers? have those. basically i rub the cuttle on the wafer and they eat it do they get any calcium doe?

Nerites don'e eat algae wafers, at least not mine. I have four nerites and I never see them eat algae wafers, but my plecos and even my corys eat algae wafers.

I never worry about feeding mine they eat what comes naturally to the tank, algae and scum.

I am not sure what size tank you have, but if it is big enough and not overly stocked then you can get a bristle nose pleco. These guys ravage algae.

I’m not gonna get one the tank that I have them in is a 15 gal lol maybe otos

I don’t think nerites eat all different kinds of algae, only the softer ones.

My nerites and ottos don’t touch any hair algae’s, but I dropped a piece of blanched zucchini in, and the nerites destroyed it,I only have 2 in my 20 long
