Well, this weekend I was at my uncle's, splitting wood. And he mentioned that he didn't get me anything for my B-day this January, so we went to Wally World to see what they had. We ended up getting a ten gallon tank setup, which I put together as soon as I got home.

I used half the water from the female's tank, seeing how I can't cut any filter media to put in the new filter. I hope the water will suffice. Currently I only have two plants, a small shell cave, and of course little Ame got the place to himself for now. I'm getting a divider so I can put Haku with him.

The only problem I'm having is how strong the filter is. He seemed to be having trouble navigating with it last night. So I'm going to see what I can do to kill the current. (The DIY link is not there in Helpful Links) I'm getting a picture of him in his new home today, to be up tonight or tomorrow.

adding water from another tank will do absolutely nothing. there is very minimal bacteria present in tank water as it builds up on surfaces. what type of filter do you have in the new tank? is it possible to put something extra inside it? do you have gravel in any of your other tanks? if so put some of the gravel from the established tanks into the new filter, near the base if possible as that way the bacteria can spread in the direction of the water flow, into the new media (there won't be as much bacteria on gravel as on filter media, but lots more than in the water)

The orriginal is a Tetra 10i filter, but the new one I'm not sure about. Ahg, my uncle lied to me, then. I'll get some of the gravel in it tonight, when I get back.

The filter is an Aqua-Tech 5-15. I got to slow down the current by redirecting it with a piece of plastic cut from a bottle. I put some of the gravel from the old tank under the new gravel.
