Video Of Convicts Careing For Their Eggs

Okay, my cons spawned today. They are new parents, and the female is quite small. There are at most, 50 eggs, since she is so small. I have a video of the female taking care of the eggs, which i would like to share with you guys. They are definately fertile ( all of them are a nice pleasent yellow), but they most likely wont get to free swimming stage, since this is the first time for them to spawn:

Eggs still look good. Nice and yellow. No fungus. She still hasnt eaten them, im VERY surprised!

lol, very true. He dosent like me one bit, until i show him his container of his favorite food, freeze Dried Mysis Shrimp!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good. You can see the little black bodies curled into the egg . I expect them to hatch later today( its 4:09 PM here)>

good luck, when i had my convicts i stuck my hand in the tank one time and the male bit me.

convicts are pretty fish, but the fry are going to be hard to get rid of.

and to let you know the ease of breeding, when I was redoing my 100 gallon substrate, I had 1 6" oscar, 4 convicts, 1 blood parrot, and 1 common pleco in a 20 gallon tank for the 4 hours I was doing the substrate to sand and the convicts laid eggs in the 20 gallon and killed the blood parrot.

Ohh, dont worry, i know they are east to breed. This isnt my first time keeping them. I had some spawn within a day or introduction before.

Thanks! Yeah, they hatched this morning. If you want pics/ video's of the wrigglers, all you have to do is ask.

How long does it take them to become free swimming?

Yeah your right. As soon as the mom gets the fry into a place that i can see them, there will be a video. Well, i expect to see them swimming in 3 days.
