Tank size: 40 gallons
pH: 6.5-7.3
ammonia: 0 ppm
nitrite: 0 ppm
nitrate: 0 ppm
kH: 4 sometimes goes to 6
gH: 5
tank temp: Unknown. I live in Southeast Asia so the water is constantly warm enough.
Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): I have 1 black angelfish. He's acting very strange recently. At first, he was swimming still in one corner of the tank with his fins drooped down. He wasn't eating that much as well. Few days later, some white films accompanied with his left and right fins falling off developed. I immediately did research and all symptoms seem consistent with fin rot, though I'm not entirely sure. After medication, his condition is still deteriorating badly. He's now lying and swimming upwards (like an arrow pointing to the surface). He's also weak at times.
Volume and Frequency of water changes: Once every 4 weeks. 50% change. If things get too bad at times, 1 full change a month.
Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Only some vitamins and dechlorinator. I've been using them for years.
Tank inhabitants: 1 snakeskin gourami, 1 platinum angelfish (only around 2-3 inches tall)
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): The platinum angelfish. Quarantined for about a week or two.
Exposure to chemicals: None
