so i was feeding the fish in my community tank today and decided to feed them a bit differently. instead of droping a pinch of tubifex worms in after they eat, i hand fed them. the rest of the fish, except for the tiger barbs and HBs, were eating the shrimp pellets on the bottom. the tiger barbs love tubifex and i soon had them leaping out of the water to get some. it was very cool to see them with half their bodies beached on the plant that comes to the top. like shamu (spelling) at seaworld!

has anybody done this? it seemed no matter how far i pulled the cube out of the water they would slither their ways up to get it

i used to hand feed my fire eels when i had them. they loved frozen bloodworm and could launch themselves around 3-4 inches out of the water to get at it!
i was a little more uneasy about hand feeding my aussie arrowana, but did it a few times with him taking large prawns.

i think most fish will hand feed once they get used to you.

i tend to hand feed my 22" fire eel, with flozen blood worm. I also sometimes feed one of my large plecs, its funny to see them sucking on the cube no matter if they are upside down or what

My weatherloaches do this, even when I have no food and am moving things around the tank or putting plants in, they come and wind round my fingers begging :P

My dwarf gourami will dart out of the water for a worm off my finger, and my mothers betta will also take worms from my hand.

I used to feed flake food stuck to my fingers to all of my fish...but it became annoying when they would start nibbling at me during water changes so I don't do it anymore. XD
